After a string of eight wins, Franklin's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Elk Grove Thundering Herd. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Thundering Herd earlier this season, when they won 4-3.

Jason Harris was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Minnatee, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles.

Franklin's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 14-3. As for Elk Grove, their win bumped their record up to 10-7.

Franklin has already played their next game, a 6-4 loss against De La Salle on the 15th. As for Elk Grove, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Clovis North on the 14th.
