Basketball Recap: Mormon Trail Takes a Loss

Mormon Trail lost against Ankeny Christian Academy back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Mormon Trail Saints took a blow against Ankeny Christian Academy, falling 79-41. The Saints have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mormon Trail's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 3-3. As for Ankeny Christian Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mormon Trail will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Seymour at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Seymour knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Mormon Trail likes a good challenge. Ankeny Christian Academy will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against Madrid at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
