Baseball Recap: Thompson's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Thompson waltzed into their matchup on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Spanish Fort Toros 9-2. For the Warriors, this counts as revenge for the 14-8 win the Toros walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2017.

Deisel Jones looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Cooper Fuller was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Collier Smith also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Thompson's record now sits at 6-2. As for Spanish Fort, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Thompson will take on Saraland at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Spanish Fort, they will take on Foundation Academy in a tournament on Friday. Foundation Academy will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Spanish Fort surely won't give up without a fight.
