Basketball Game Preview: Notre Dame Prep Lancers vs. Immaculate Mustangs

The Notre Dame Prep Lancers will venture away from home to square off against the Immaculate Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Notre Dame Prep will be strutting in after a victory while Immaculate will be coming in after a defeat.

Notre Dame Prep is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by Norwalk to the tune of 67-31 on Friday. Given the Lancers' advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Bears are ranked 141st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Immaculate came up short against Conard on Saturday, falling 68-48. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Immaculate saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kendra Foy posted 23 points. Foy's afternoon made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points. Kristina Asmani was another key player, putting up ten points.

The win made it two in a row for Notre Dame Prep and bumps their season record up to 4-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 36 points. As for Immaculate, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-13.

Notre Dame Prep couldn't quite finish off Immaculate when the teams last played back in December of 2023 and fell 49-46. Can Notre Dame Prep avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
