Baseball Recap: Logan Falls Short of Provo in the Playoffs

Logan and Provo squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Logan had to settle for second. They lost 7-1 to the Bulldogs. The Grizzlies' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Zac Stuart was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in March.

On the hitting side, Logan saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyler Briel, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Logan's defeat dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Provo, they have been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.

As of now, neither Logan nor Provo have any future games scheduled.
