Softball Game Preview: Clarksville Wildcats vs. Henry County Patriots

The Clarksville Wildcats will square off against the Henry County Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Clarksville will be strutting in after a win while Henry County will be coming in after a defeat.

Henry County will be up against a hot Clarksville squad: the team just extended their winning streak to six. Clarksville's pitchers stepped up to hand West Creek an 18-0 shutout on Monday.

Meanwhile, Henry County started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Stewart County. They fell 9-6 to the Rebels on Monday.

Audrey Hill and Reed Jackson did some serious damage despite the final result: Hill went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double, while Jackson scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Those three runs gave Jackson a new career-high. Layne Latimer was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

Henry County's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Clarksville, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Clarksville came out on top in a nail-biter against Henry County in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 7-5. Will Clarksville repeat their success, or does Henry County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
