It was a proper cat-fight when Demopolis faced off against Jemison on Friday. The Tigers simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Panthers 35-8. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Tigers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Panthers are ranked 277th).

Demopolis' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaleb Branch, who rushed for 71 yards and one score on only five carries. Jw McAlpine was another key passer, throwing for 201 yards and one touchdown.

Demopolis' run defense was locked in: Jemison could only muster 2.1 yards per carry. The Tigers didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.8.

Meanwhile, Northside made easy work of Jemison last Friday and carried off a 49-25 win.

Northside's win came from a few key players Demopolis will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Bennett Green, who rushed for 187 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 11.7 yards per carry, and also picked up 36 receiving yards. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 123 rushing yards dating back to last season. Another passer making a difference was Jackson Rhodes, who threw for 207 yards and five touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.

Northside's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Demopolis, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.
