Breydon Ford posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Monday. He struck out four batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk), good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

Ford's strong effort led Elk Grove over Sheldon and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Huskies are limping into the matchup having lost seven straight on the road.
