Baseball Recap: Monument Mountain Comes Up Short

After flying high against Wahconah Regional on Thursday, Monument Mountain came back down to earth. The Spartans took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Drury Blue Devils on Sunday. The Spartans have struggled against the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Monument Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Drury, their win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-0.

Looking ahead, Monument Mountain will be playing at home against Amherst-Pelham Regional at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Spartans are facing the Hurricanes at the right time seeing as the Hurricanes are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Drury, they will square off against Mount Anthony at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
