Softball Recap: Bella Vista Drops Season-High Score on Christian Brothers

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bella Vista). They never let the Christian Brothers Falcons get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory on Wednesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Broncos considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Mackenzie Dean made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rosie Harrod, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jada Whelan, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Bella Vista was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .450. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Christian Brothers only posted a batting average of .062.

The win got Bella Vista back to even at 11-11. As for Christian Brothers, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bella Vista will host Woodcreek at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Christian Brothers, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ponderosa at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bruins have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
