Softball Recap: Del Valle's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

Del Valle dropped their record down to 21-11-2 on Thursday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the El Dorado Aztecs by a score of 10-9. The Conquistadores were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Aztecs earlier this season, when they won 13-3.

Katelyn Hernandez and Mia Estrada did some serious damage despite the final result: Hernandez went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI, while Estrada went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Clarissa Cepeda, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

As for El Dorado, they have been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games.

On El Dorado's side, the team relied heavily on Isabella Rodriguez, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple was Rodriguez's first of the season. Nevaeh Matsuda was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

As of now, neither Del Valle nor El Dorado have any future games scheduled.
