Softball Recap: T.C. Roberson Takes a Loss

T.C. Roberson had lost five straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 3-15 to make it six. They lost 8-0 to the R-S Central Hilltoppers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hilltoppers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 back in March.

As for R-S Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-6. Considering they have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

For R-S Central's part, Hadley Freeman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over seven innings pitched. Freeman was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Layna Jeffords was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. Saydie Pruett also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

As of now, neither T.C. Roberson nor R-S Central have any future games scheduled.
