Basketball Game Preview: Ontario Christian Knights vs. Linfield Christian Lions

The Ontario Christian Knights are taking a road trip to take on the Linfield Christian Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Ontario Christian sitting on three straight wins and Linfield Christian on eight.

Last Friday, Ontario Christian beat Alta Loma 59-51.

Ontario Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mason Salazar, who went 8 of 17 en route to 22 points. Another player making a difference was Cole Jones, who posted 18 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals.

Ontario Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Linfield Christian posted their closest victory since February 7, 2024 on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 57-55 win over Aquinas.

Ontario Christian is also on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.1 points per game. As for Linfield Christian, they pushed their record up to 14-12 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Ontario Christian and Linfield Christian were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in January, but Ontario Christian came up empty-handed after a 54-53 defeat. Can Ontario Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
