Softball Recap: Frederick Golden Eagles vs. Pueblo County Hornets
Pueblo County typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Frederick proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Hornets by a score of 6-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Golden Eagles.
Elayna Fisher spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Ella Stromberg was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. She has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last nine times she's played. Brealea Stendel was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Frederick was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pueblo County only posted a batting average of .250.
Frederick's win bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Pueblo County, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-6.
Frederick has already played their next matchup, an 8-0 victory against Silver Creek on the 30th. As for Pueblo County, they will face off against Pueblo East at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.89 runs per game on average), something the Hornets will no doubt try to take advantage of.
