There's no place like home for Martin, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Rio Grande City Rattlers on Friday, sneaking past 3-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Omar Garza was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.

Martin is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. Rio Grande City has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.
