            Softball Recap: La Jolla Country Day Torreys vs. St. Joseph Academy Crusaders        
        
		
        
        
            While La Jolla Country Day's  win against St. Joseph Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Torreys skirted past the Crusaders  8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  victory the Torreys have posted  since March 20th.
 Ayla Desai was a  major factor no matter where she played. She  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only two  hits while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with two  runs and two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Kathryn McGowen, who  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with two  runs and one  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Josephine Criado, who  went 3-for-5 with one  RBI.
 La Jolla Country Day  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 12  hits. They are  a perfect 5-0 when  they post 11 or more  hits.
La Jolla Country Day's record is now 7-12. As for St. Joseph Academy,  they are  on  a  ten-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 2-11.
 La Jolla Country Day didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  13-0  loss against Maranatha Christian on the 13th. As for St. Joseph Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next  game,  a  13-2  win against Guajome Park Academy on the 13th.
