The Garey Vikings just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Eastside Christian Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Garey turned things around against Ganesha on Wednesday. They strolled past the Giants with points to spare, taking the game 66-48. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Vikings' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Esteban Ruvalcaba went supernova, going 10-for-19 on his way to 24 points in addition to seven steals and five boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.5 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Miguel Flores, who shot 55% from the field to rack up 12 points and eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, Eastside Christian gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They came out on top against Liberty Christian by a score of 27-15.

Garey's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Eastside Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.

Everything came up roses for Garey against Eastside Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 64-23 win. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
