Football Recap: Channelview Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Channelview's offense. They were outmatched by the North Shore Mustangs and fell 70-0. The Falcons have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Kaleb Maryland was his usual excellent self, throwing for 327 yards and four touchdowns while completing 90.9% of his passes, and also punching in one TD on the ground for North Shore. What's more, Maryland racked up 169.5 passer rating, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was La' Damian Defreeze, who picked up 139 receiving yards and three scores.

Channelview's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for North Shore, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Channelview has already played their next matchup, a 44-28 loss against Goose Creek Memorial on the 24th. As for North Shore, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 47-28 victory against Atascocita on the 24th.
