Basketball Recap: Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City Comes Up Short

Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took an 85-71 bruising from the B O L D Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 281st, while the Warriors are ranked 124th).

Leading B O L D to victory were Jack Gross and Will Penkert. Gross went 10-for-24 to rack up 30 points along with eight assists and six rebounds, while Penkert went 6-for-11 from beyond the arc on his way to 34 points and seven boards. Penkert's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Ruschen, who posted 12 points.

Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 11-11. As for B O L D, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.

While Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
