Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Spring Hill

Spring Hill entered their tilt with Marshall on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Marshall Mavericks. Seven seems to be a good number for the Panthers as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Payton Dees was a standout: she scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Dees is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's stolen at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Mattye Moore, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-1.

Spring Hill hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most three strikeouts in three consecutive matchups.

Spring Hill's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Marshall, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Spring Hill will take on New Diana in a tournament on Saturday. As for Marshall, they will be playing at home against Redwater at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
