Basketball Recap: Landon Takes a Loss

Landon lost against Whitman back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Landon Bears fell just short of the Whitman Vikings by a score of 58-55. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bears have suffered since February 6th.

Whitman was led to victory by Max Williams and Sean Curran. Williams dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 boards, while Curran dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 boards. What's more, Curran also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in December of 2023. Hayden Walsh was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Landon dropped their record down to 3-4 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Whitman, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.

Landon will be taking part in a tournament against Loyola Blakefield at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Landon knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Loyola Blakefield likes a good challenge. Whitman and Spring Mills will round out the year against one another at at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
