Basketball Recap: DSST: Cedar Comes Up Short

DSST: Cedar managed to keep up with St. Mary's Academy until halftime on Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The DSST: Cedar Falcons lost 44-23 to the St. Mary's Academy Wildcats. The contest marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Despite the loss, DSST: Cedar still got an impressive performance from Raniya Paul, who posted nine points. Another player making a difference was Aruai Randhal, who put up six points and five boards.

Aleena Nauman continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for St. Mary's Academy, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Nauman is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Sorenna Cooper was another key player, putting up eight points and six boards.

This is the second loss in a row for DSST: Cedar and nudges their season record down to 7-6. As for St. Mary's Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season.

DSST: Cedar wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 54-10 victory against DSST: Green Valley Ranch on the 29th. As for St. Mary's Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 47-20 win against Prospect Ridge Academy on the 29th.
