Softball Recap: Waynesfield-Goshen Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

Waynesfield-Goshen proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 14) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Ridgedale Rockets 7-5. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 8-2 win the Rockets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Tarynn Vorhes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tatelyn Faraglia, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Liberty Glaser also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Waynesfield-Goshen pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Ridgedale, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Waynesfield-Goshen will welcome Arcadia at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Redskins have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season. As for Ridgedale, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Perry at 5:00 p.m.
