Basketball Recap: New Glarus Takes a Loss

If New Glarus was riding high fresh off their 87-66 takedown of Waterloo on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The New Glarus Glarner Knights fell 81-73 to the Darlington Redbirds on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Glarner Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 221st, while the Redbirds are ranked 58th).

New Glarus has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.5 points per game. As for Darlington, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

While New Glarus had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
