Softball Game Preview: Lincoln Lynx vs. Bishop Blanchet Bears

The Lincoln Lynx are taking a road trip to challenge the Bishop Blanchet Bears at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

While Lynx fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Tuesday's season opener. They came out on top against Holy Names Academy by a score of 10-7 on Tuesday.

Ruby Hughes looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Lincoln got a massive performance out of Anja Ticen, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and two RBI. Nash Cochran was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Lincoln kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Holy Names Academy only managed seven hits.

Meanwhile, Bishop Blanchet put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Kennedy Catholic as Bishop Blanchet made off with a 15-6 victory.

Lincoln might still be hurting after the 17-1 loss they got from Bishop Blanchet when the teams last played back in March of 2023. Can Lincoln avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
