Basketball Game Preview: St. James Sharks vs. Chapin Eagles

The St. James Sharks will head out to challenge the Chapin Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. St. James is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

St. James came up short against Socastee on Thursday, falling 44-21.

Meanwhile, Chapin ended up a good deal behind White Knoll on Thursday and lost 52-35.

St. James will have to keep a close watch on Atyria Douglas and Reagan Haggard, a pair of players who had a big impact on Chapin's prior game. Douglas made all 5 shots she took for 10 points, while Haggard posted eight points and 15 boards. Haggard is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down 11 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Even though they lost, Chapin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in eight consecutive games.

St. James' loss dropped their record down to 13-13. As for Chapin, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-14.
