Wylie East came tearing into Tuesday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down the Rowlett Eagles 70-54. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while the Eagles are ranked 550th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Rowlett saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Braylon Griffith posted 18 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Griffith has scored all season. Jaydan Banks was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

Wylie East is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 18 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.9 points per game. As for Rowlett, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-17.
