Baseball Game Preview: Sanger Apaches vs. Sanger West Hornets

For the second straight game, Sanger will face off against Sanger West. The Apaches will be playing at home against the Hornets at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Sanger's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Sanger West's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Sanger will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Friday, then bounced right back against Sanger West on Tuesday. The Apaches put the hurt on the Hornets with a sharp 12-1 victory. Considering the Apaches have won nine contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Sanger West's part, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Angel Martinez, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Sanger has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Sanger West, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season.
