Baseball Game Preview: San Joaquin Memorial Panthers vs. Ashland Grizzlies

The San Joaquin Memorial Panthers will square off against the Ashland Grizzlies at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. San Joaquin Memorial is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.

It was a proper cat-fight when San Joaquin Memorial took on Edison on Thursday. San Joaquin Memorial had just enough and edged out Edison 3-2.

Meanwhile, Ashland came up short against Dos Pueblos on Tuesday, falling 13-3. The loss put an end to the Grizzlies' undefeated start to the season.

Malakai Chandler put in work while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off six hits. Chandler was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

Chandler wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Albano, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

San Joaquin Memorial's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Ashland, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
