Scales Mound waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the East Dubuque Warriors. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 2-0 win on Saturday.

Scales Mound had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-20, 27-25.

Ellaina Kostenbader paced Scales Mound's offense, picking up ten kills. Kostenbader got some help from Campbell Hereau and her 24 assists. Hereau was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Scales Mound's victory bumped their record up to 14-10. As for East Dubuque, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-11.

Coincidentally, Scales Mound and East Dubuque will both be playing River Ridge the next time they take the court. The Warriors will host the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Hornets will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on the 15th.
