Football Game Preview: Seneca Golden Eagles vs. Holmdel Hornets

The Seneca Golden Eagles will head out to square off against the Holmdel Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a five-game winning streak alive.

Seneca is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Matawan Regional 28-7. The Golden Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Holmdel). They were the clear victors by a 65-42 margin over Neptune on Friday. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Scarlet Fliers are ranked 72nd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Holmdel's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Seneca, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.
