Basketball Game Recap: McClymonds Warriors vs. Castlemont Knights

McClymonds took a 54-point loss the last time they faced off against Castlemont, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The McClymonds Warriors' defense stepped up to hand the Castlemont Knights a 2-0 shutout on Wednesday. The two-point effort marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

McClymonds' victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-11. As for Castlemont, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

McClymonds will venture away from home to square off against Oakland Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Oakland Tech knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 16 games -- so hopefully McClymonds likes a good challenge. As for Castlemont, they will take on Encinal in a tournament on Monday.
