Football Recap: Jonesboro Takes a Loss

Jonesboro played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Benton Panthers, falling 55-24. The Hurricane have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Jonesboro lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kameron Davis, who picked up 184 receiving yards and two scores. Asa Myers was another key player, having thrown for 263 yards and two touchdowns.

Jonesboro didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Clarence Mucherson and Jaylen Alexander. Another thorn in Benton's side was Eric Blocker, who picked up a sack and made eight total tackles.

Jonesboro's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Benton, their win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1.
