Baseball Recap: Whitefield Academy Has No Trouble Against Fern Creek

Whitefield Academy made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Fern Creek, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 16-6 victory on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won five games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Braden Schwartz was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Wallitsch, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Whitefield Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Fern Creek, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Looking ahead, Whitefield Academy will head out on the road to face off against Bullitt East at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fern Creek, they will welcome Atherton at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Ravens have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season.
