Softball Recap: Jamestown's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

Jamestown dropped their record down to 5-4 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sharon Tigers. The Muskies were not able to make up for their loss to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Miranda Biles spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on five hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

As for Sharon, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1. Give their pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

On Sharon's side, Madelyn Vogan made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 18 over seven innings pitched. Vogan was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one triple.

Vogan wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Claire Bodien, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Jamestown will face off against rival Slippery Rock at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Sharon is set to square off against their familiar foe Franklin at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
