Volleyball Recap: Jefferson Area Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Jefferson Area suffered their biggest loss since October 7, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against the North Rangers, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Falcons of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: North scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-20, 25-17.

Leading North to victory were Lacey Staska and Ava Mitchell. Staska had ten digs and three aces, while Mitchell had 21 digs and two aces. That's the most aces Staska has posted since back in October of 2024.

Jefferson Area's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for North, their win ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jefferson Area will look to takes advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they takes on Crestwood at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for North, they will host Villa Angela-St. Joseph at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
