Softball Recap: Skyline Eagles vs. Alta Hawks
Skyline extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 4-15. They lost 25-11 to the Alta Hawks. Even if the Eagles couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.
Skyline saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bella Carrion, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Another was Isabelle Rupp, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
As for Alta, their victory bumped their record up to 7-12. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On Alta's side, they got a massive performance out of Brielle Watson, who went 5-for-6 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. That's the most runs Watson has posted since back in March. Danica Doyle was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Skyline will head out to challenge San Juan at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Alta, they will venture away from home to take on Brighton at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bengals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.83 runs per game on average), something the Hawks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
