Northshore proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by 23) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Chalmette Owls. The win was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on six straight.

Carson Malasovich spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kole Brackman and Brody Dukes did most of the damage at the plate: Brackman went 1-for-2 with one home run, while Dukes went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Dukes a new career-high.

Northshore pushed their record up to 23-4-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Chalmette, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-13.

Northshore will have a chance to go back-to-back against Chalmette: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
