Basketball Recap: Theo Burke Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Westfield

It's playoff time, and Woodson had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 71-58 victory over the Westfield Bulldogs on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Cavaliers in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won three in a row.

Woodson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Theo Burke led the charge by going 6-for-9 en route to 24 points. The dominant performance gave Burke a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Limbago, who posted nine points in addition to seven assists and five rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Westfield lost, don't look at Jemon Price. Despite the final result, he had 19 points. Mathias Lee was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Woodson's record is now 24-4. As for Westfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 21-8.

Looking ahead, Woodson will venture away from home to take on Oscar Smith at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Oscar Smith has won 11 straight at home, while Woodson won eight straight on the road), something that'll have to change. Westfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
