Softball Recap: East Newton Victorious

While East Newton's victory against Marionville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Patriots skirted past the Comets 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Patriots have posted since April 23, 2024.

East Newton is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Marionville, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.

Looking ahead, East Newton will square off against Mt. Vernon at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Patriots 2.1, the Mountaineers 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Marionville, they will face off against Ash Grove at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
