It was a good run, but  Berkeley unfortunately witnessed the end of their  three-match winning streak on Thursday. They came up short against  the Castro Valley Trojans, falling  3-0. Considering the last time the Yellowjackets couldn't score was  back in September, the team can't take the result too hard.
 While Berkeley ultimately came up short, they really made  Castro Valley work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 26-24,  25-19.
 Liliana Sanger paced Berkeley's offense, picking up six kills. Sanger got some help from  Stella Chen-McDermott and her nine assists. Sanger was also solid from the service line:  she led the team with three aces.
 Castro Valley was led to victory by  Courtney Seiji and  Niya Guzman.  Seiji  had 16  digs and four  assists, while  Guzman  had six  digs. That's the most  digs  Seiji has posted  over her last seven  matchups.
Berkeley's loss dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Castro Valley, they pushed their record up to 19-9 with the  win, which was their fifth straight  at home.
As of now, neither Berkeley nor the Trojans have any future games scheduled.
