Basketball Recap: Tenino Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Tenino's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 61-50 victory over the Ocosta Wildcats. The win was some much needed relief for the Beavers as it spelled an end to their nine-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Ocosta's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sonny Beard, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 16 rebounds. Those 16 boards gave Beard a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dalton Welch, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards.

Tenino's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Ocosta, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.

Tenino will host Ilwaco at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ocosta, they will venture away from home to take on Hoquiam at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Ocosta is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51 points per game this season.
