After a string of five wins, Clayton's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They came up short against the Logan Longhorns, falling 19-8. The Yellowjackets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Longhorns earlier this season, when they won 12-7.

Daniel Manquero stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Deagan Maez was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Manquero wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Clayton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive matches.

Clayton's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Logan, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, Clayton will venture away from home to take on Pecos at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clayton's pitchers better be ready for this one: Pecos has averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season. As for Logan, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Non Varsity Opponent at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
