Baseball Recap: Navajo Prep Triumphs

Navajo Prep posted their closest victory since April 30, 2024 on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Laguna Acoma Hawks, sneaking past 12-11. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Hawks on Friday, they had to take a 7-6 loss.

Khol Johnson was a standout: he scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Nehemiah Simpson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Navajo Prep hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.

With the win, Navajo Prep broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-13. As for Laguna Acoma, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Navajo Prep will venture away from home to face off against Northwest at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Laguna Acoma, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Navajo Pine at 11:00 a.m. on the 19th.
