Basketball Recap: Faith Alvarado's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mosley over Bay

Mosley was the 47-26 winner over Bay when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Mosley Dolphins took a 54-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bay Tornadoes on Monday. The Dolphins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mosley's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Faith Alvarado, who went 5 of 10 en route to 13 points and five steals. Alvarado has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Persia Mincer, who went 6 of 11 on her way to 13 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Even though they lost, Mosley was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bay only racked up seven assists.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bay to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nevaeh Childs, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jhishae Baker, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.

Mosley's record is now 3-6. As for Bay, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Mosley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 58-41 loss against Walton on the 20th. As for Bay, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-42 defeat against Choctawhatchee on the 17th.
