Basketball Recap: Stow-Munroe Falls Comes Up Short

Stow-Munroe Falls was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. The contest between them and the Ellet Orangemen didn't end well, with the Stow-Munroe Falls Bulldogs falling 49-35. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Orangemen apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2022.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ellet to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caitlyn Holmes, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. Holmes' evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Saniya Williams was another key player, going 5 of 6 on her way to 15 points.

Stow-Munroe Falls' defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Ellet, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-2.

Stow-Munroe Falls will be playing in front of their home fans against Magnificat at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Magnificat will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Stow-Munroe Falls surely won't give up without a fight. As for Ellet, they will challenge Garfield Community Learning Center at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Ellet is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.8 points per game this season.
