Recap: Covington Trojans vs. North Montgomery Chargin' Chargers

The Covington Trojans lost against the North Montgomery Chargin' Chargers back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Covington fell just short of North Montgomery by a score of 51-48.

When it comes to explaining why Covington lost, one person who can't be blamed is Coye Ferguson. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. Ferguson continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Curt Slider, who scored 11 points.

North Montgomery's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Noah Hopkins, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for him. Jarrod Kirsch was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.

Covington's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for North Montgomery, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Covington and Seeger will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 21st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Seeger focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Saturday. North Montgomery and Rossville will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Rossville is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
