Preview: Bloomfield Bees vs. Creighton Bulldogs

Bloomfield and Creighton are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2020, but not for long. The Bloomfield Bees will be playing in front of their home fans against the Creighton Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bloomfield has three straight wins, Creighton has ten straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Bloomfield scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Neligh-Oakdale 69-32 at home. Perhaps unsurprisinly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Bloomfield had a senior duo take command as Layne Warrior scored 15 points and Wiley Ziegler scored 12 points. Warrior has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. Keldon Loecker was another key contributor, scoring nine points.

Creighton lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Monday was a bit more commanding. They were outmatched by O'Neill at home and fell 81-51. While losing is never fun, Creighton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 271st, while O'Neill is ranked 103rd).

Bloomfield's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Creighton, they dropped their record down to 2-15 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Bloomfield beat Creighton 57-47 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Will Bloomfield repeat their success, or does Creighton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
