Volleyball Recap: Gloucester Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Gloucester was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Norview last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Dukes took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Peninsula Catholic Knights on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Dukes of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2021.

Gloucester started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-21, 25-22, 25-20.

Gloucester has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. Peninsula Catholic's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Gloucester and Norfolk Christian will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Peninsula Catholic, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against TEACH Homeschool at 7:00 p.m.
