Basketball Recap: 12 Straight Home Victories for C.B. Aycock

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely C.B. Aycock's strategy against East Wake on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the C.B. Aycock Golden Falcons blew the East Wake Warriors out of the water with a 53-26 final score. Given the Golden Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Warriors are ranked 456th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead C.B. Aycock to victory, but perhaps none more so than Madison Smith, who went 5 for 6 on her way to 12 points and five rebounds. Audrey Teasley was another key player, putting up 13 points and seven steals.

C.B. Aycock smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in six consecutive matches.

C.B. Aycock's victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. As for East Wake, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.

After both having extra time off, C.B. Aycock and South Johnston will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
